Adriatic sardine is a high-quality small blue fish rich in omega-3 acids and biotin. Fats are a source of energy, but that is not their only role. They play a role in the construction of cell membranes, help the resorption of fat-soluble vitamins, control hormones and are chemical messengers, and play a major role in the regulation of the inflammatory reaction. When we talk about omega-3 fatty acids, their most important role is the regulation of the inflammatory reaction. Omega-6 fatty acids stimulate the inflammatory reaction, which is very important in order to trigger the body's immune reaction, omega-3 fatty acids work the opposite of them, so they reduce the inflammatory reaction, which is very important for the control of chronic diseases and allergic reactions. The optimal ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids promotes the appropriate immune response of the body. Biotin is a vitamin from the B complex group, also called vitamin H. It is important for normal growth, muscle development, plays an important role in metabolism and energy production, in the normal functioning of the thyroid gland, adrenal gland and reproductive organs, and is also very important for skin and fur health. In the production of Von BARF Adriatic we use whole fish, categories acceptable for human consumption.

Beef is procured from the highest quality Croatian meat suppliers. The meat undergoes veterinary inspection and is of a category acceptable for human consumption. It is processed fresh and packed in polyamide covers and immediately after that it is frozen at -18 °C.

Bone is an optimal source of minerals for dogs. When bone is a source of minerals, there is no fear of an unfavorable ratio of calcium and phosphorus, because the organism will take each mineral in the amount it needs, and the excess of minerals will remain undigested and be expelled from the organism. Bones are in the diet of dogs, apart from being a source of minerals, essential in order to achieve the optimal stool consistency, so that the anal sacs are emptied naturally.

Ground cartilage is a rich natural source of substances essential for joint health (glucosamine , chondroitin).
  • Glucosamine is a proteoglycan (glucose + amino acid glutamine) that is found in high concentration in connective tissue. It is needed for the synthesis of larger molecules that keep the joints healthy, i.e. well lubricated and mobile. It is important in the therapy and prevention of joint injuries, osteoarthritis and other degenerative changes in the joints.
  • Chondroitin is a complex carbohydrate found in the connective tissue of animals and humans. It ensures cartilage health by binding water molecules to itself (creating synovial fluid that nourishes and lubricates joint cartilage and ligaments), blocking enzymes that damage cartilage and stimulating the activity of chondrocytes (cartilage cells) to synthesize collagen and proteoglycans.

Mediterranean herb
  • Oregano strengthens the body's immune system due to its antioxidant effect. It contains rosmarinic acid, which has a pronounced antioxidant effect. The dog's body is certainly capable of surviving without rosmarinic acid, but its positive influence, which is reflected in the neutralization of harmful products created in metabolic processes, certainly contributes to a better state of the organism. Oregano is also called a natural antibiotic, it has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and antiparasitic properties. Alternative medicine often uses it to treat digestive problems, diarrhea and flatulence.
  • Basil has antioxidant properties, protects cell membranes from damage by free radicals. This is precisely why it is used for the treatment of some types of cancer, heart disease and arthritis, as well as other diseases associated with the aging of the body (cell decay). Basil has both anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, so it is recommended for dogs in the initial stages of arthritis instead of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The mild sedative property will soothe dogs that feel nauseous while driving, as well as dogs that are frightened (thunder, fireworks, etc.).
  • The medicinal properties of sage are numerous. Hippocrates himself wondered: "Why would a man die in whose garden sage grows?". And this plant is also extremely useful for dogs. The astringent properties of sage are responsible for reducing inflammatory reactions on the skin, and the rosmarinic acid found in sage helps alleviate the symptoms of seasonal allergies. The anti-inflammatory properties of sage are also manifested in the relief of pain caused by arthritic changes in the joints. Sage can also be used to reduce bloating and spasms in the digestive system and in general to treat digestive infections as it has antibacterial and antiviral as well as analgesic properties.

Seasonal fruits and vegetables (green leafy vegetables, carrots, apples) as a source of vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients that have an important antioxidant role in the body, and raw fibers whose role is mechanical - they stimulate intestinal peristalsis and support the growth of good microflora in the intestines (prebiotic properties).

Without preservatives, artificial colors, flavor enhancers, pesticides and other additives common in most other dog foods.

Without grains and starch

  • We recommend feeding VON BARF ADRIATIC at least once a week.
