The Healthiest Food for Dogs

The healthiest food for dogs! Is there even a food that is the healthiest or is it a matter of individual nature? There are basic guidelines for what a dog needs in its diet, but every dog is an individual. As an owner, you need to recognize what suits your dog best, but also what doesn't suit him. Dogs can survive for years on incomplete, industrial food full of substances that qualify as a complete meal. Of course only on the label and in the chemical laboratory. However, such substances are poorly digestible, insufficient and often harmful to living organisms.

Do you want to feed your dog unhealthy food? It is to be assumed that you do not want to feed your dog food that he will only survive on. Wanting to provide him with food that guarantees his health and long life. Having the idea that you will feed your dog only one type of food for its entire life, the packaging of which states that it contains absolutely everything your dog needs, is a serious misconception. It is a fascinating fact that owners today are afraid to give their dogs something that does not say - dog food. However, they choose healthy foods for themselves and put together quality meals from them. They are not looking for ready-made meals that say - food for people. For decades, we have been bombarded by industrial food manufacturers with messages that we do not know how to feed a dog ourselves. We are taught that dogs should only be fed with food that says it is for dogs. If you are not inclined to prepare food for your dog yourself, it is important to choose a quality base food. Food that really contains all the nutrients in a form acceptable to the dog's body. If necessary, add foods specifically rich in a substance. But it is certainly important to add food, and not synthetic powders, whose packaging also claims to contain everything your dog needs.

The healthiest food for dogs is:

  • natural raw food based on meat
  • offal and a small amount of vegetables and fruits
  •  and supplements such as medicinal herbs

Such food is certainly the best choice for a dog whose digestive system is a true carnivore. And yes, you can often hear that a dog is a bit of a junkie, but junkie habits are by no means desirable if you want the best possible diet for your dog. The preparation of raw, balanced meals certainly requires knowledge, because feeding a dog 'steaks' is not the best possible diet, it is not a balanced diet.
Breed-specific food
It is interesting that dog food manufacturers often produce 'breed-specific' food, giving owners the impression that it is the food just for their dog. The differences are in the composition, if there are negligible ones, the only thing (if we are talking about dehydrated food) granule size is different. Dog nutrition is basically, for dogs as a species, simple, but also much more complicated than reducing dogs to the breed and the needs of the breed, because each dog is an individual. That's why dog nutrition divided by breed is just a marketing trick. And finally - don't feed your dog anything that your grandmother wouldn't recognize as food 😊
