How Important Is Nutrition for Healthy Dog Hair?

Dog hair and how important is nutrition for healthy dog hair? Nowadays, dogs are more and more family members in the full sense of the word, dogs live with us. They can often be found on our laps, and often sleep with us. That is why it is not without reason that dog owners pay a lot of attention to the quality of their pets' hair. Dogs with healthy and shiny fur are especially pleasant to pet. It is even more important that shiny, lush fur and healthy skin is a good indicator of the health of the whole organism. The skin is the largest organ of the individual and due to the constant renewal of cells, it uses very large amounts of nutrients. Constant renewal is necessary in order to maintain the main, protective role of the skin.

Optimal nutrition is a crucial factor for healthy skin and fur. It is an indisputable fact that dogs fed BARF have a wonderful, shiny, lush coat. This is something that owners often notice. Yes, you read that right - the second...because the first thing you notice and what shocks you the most is the small amount and frequency of stool, but we will write about that in a separate text. A few weeks after they start feeding the dog the way its carnivorous organism needs it, with raw natural meals of meat, the coat visibly changes for the better.

Why exactly is raw food so suitable for beautiful, soft hair? There are several reasons, first of all - because raw food is a source of optimal amounts of high-quality proteins, i.e. raw proteins of animal origin. Dog poop is mainly composed of proteins. When we tell you that about 35% of the daily intake of protein is used precisely for the construction and renewal of the skin and fur, you will understand how important the quality of the protein is in the quality of the coat. By far, dogs get the highest quality and most useful proteins in Von BARF meals. Another reason for improving the quality of the coat is the essential fatty acids that are preserved (without preservatives) in their natural form in the ingredients that make up the Von BARF meal. Zinc, a mineral in which raw bones are extremely rich, also makes a big difference in our food. In raw bones, zinc is found in a form that is easily absorbed by the body. Synthetic zinc, especially if it is added to food that is rich in grains, is difficult to absorb because it is often bound to proteins that the body cannot digest. And finally, muscle meat, rumen and liver, which are integral parts of the Von BARF dog diet, contain an optimal amount of vitamins A, B and E. Vitamins A and E are powerful antioxidants that protect cells from the negative influence of free radicals, i.e. protect cells from decay. B-complex vitamins play an important role in the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. All of this together is the reason why dogs fed BARF have a completely different coat. And that's why cuddling with BARF-ers is a particularly wonderful experience!
