VON BARF PREMIUM SELECTION DUCK

VON BARF PREMIUM SELECTION DUCK is a complete and balanced, frozen, biologically appropriate raw food for dogs. It contains duck and seasonal fruits and vegetables.

In Chinese medicine, duck is classified as cool meat recommended by holistic veterinarians for dogs suffering from chronic inflammatory processes, such as allergies, arthritis, as well as for dogs with tumours.

Duck could be the meat of choice for dogs allergic to chicken or beef.

Duck is an excellent source of protein, due to a slightly higher proportion of fat it is excellent for dogs in training who require a higher amount of fat as a quality source of energy. It is, however, important to note that duck is actually low in saturated fat. Duck is a rich source of vitamin B and potassium, which is important for the proper functioning of enzymes, muscles and the nervous system.

Ingredients:

  • duck meat 55%
  • duck neck and back 16%
  • fruits and vegetables 15%
  • duck hearts 10%
  • duck liver

FEEDING GUIDE

The amount of food needed for one meal should be thawed and served when it reaches room temperature. This food must not be exposed to high temperatures, cooked or heated in the microwave.

Thawed BARF can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. When taken out of the refrigerator, the meal should be served when it reaches room temperature.

NUMBER AND SIZE OF MEALS

It is recommended to feed adult, healthy dogs once a day. If a dog is used to eating 2-3 meals a day, this may be continued.

Puppies, bitches in late pregnancy and lactation and dogs with health issues are usually fed several times a day.

The size of meals depends on the body weight, activity level and age of the dog. The meal should amount to 2-5% of body weight, for adult dogs this is usually about 2% of their body weight.

It is recommended that you weigh your dog before switching to BARF and again two to three weeks after. Depending on the goal (weight maintenance, weight loss, weight gain), adjust the size of the meal accordingly.
